Aeration management

Traditional approach to monitor grain temperature during storage uses many temperature probes tied up to steel cables hung up to the bin roof. This approach is expensive and grain temperature probes can not be moved.

The new approach used by Multico's system is really different. First, the system itself takes decision and starts or stops aeration fans according to the readings of three grain temperatures and outdoor temperature. The major difference of this system is the fact that decisions are based on grain temperature readings made at three feet depth from the grain surface. This approach was developped from research work of the "Centre de recherche sur les grains lnc." (Grain Research Center Inc.) for three years on real field installations and by computer simulations.

Innovatrice methode

System operation is easy and there are only a few steps to take in order to have your system
working for a complete year without any farmer help.

Control unit is a collaborator for your aeration management. You should stay alert and check stored grain periodically

For each step of aeration management, the control unit optimizes fan operation and maintains good storage conditions for grains.

Aeration management is done season by season with the following specific goals for each of them;

1     Fall ( filling time): Chill stored grains as soon as possible and
       maintain grain temperature uniformity.

2      Winter: Prevent stored grains warm up and maintain temperature uniformity.

3      Spring: Delay stored grains warm up and maintain temperature uniformity.

4      Summer. Operate aeration fan once a week and keep stored grains cool.
